Use the devices you have
Nothing needs to be bought or leased before opening day. Staff ring up orders on a laptop, the line cooks read tickets on whatever monitor hangs in the kitchen, and servers take table orders on an ordinary tablet.
Toast is a full restaurant platform built around purpose-made terminals, handhelds and kitchen displays, with payments, payroll and loyalty alongside. SaaSVisionary is lighter by design. Its restaurant app covers menus, checkout, kitchen tickets, online orders and table bookings without any proprietary hardware: open it on the laptops, tablets and screens in the building, and every guest lands in a CRM you can market from.
The short answer
High-volume full-service restaurants that need certified card-present terminals, offline mode, payroll and delivery marketplace connections should stay with a hardware platform like Toast. Counter-service spots, takeout kitchens and operators who want their menu, orders and guest marketing in one browser-based system will find SaaSVisionary a practical fit.

Why teams switch
Nothing needs to be bought or leased before opening day. Staff ring up orders on a laptop, the line cooks read tickets on whatever monitor hangs in the kitchen, and servers take table orders on an ordinary tablet.
Online orders and reservations create guest records you can text about a new menu, invite back after a quiet week or ask for a review.
Guests order and book on pages that show only the restaurant's name, colours and logo. Point your own domain at them and nobody sees a mention of the software behind it.
Card revenue lands in the restaurant's own Stripe account. Cash, and anything paid on another system, can still be logged against the check.
Start with online ordering, which you can run beside your existing POS without disrupting service. Rebuild your menu with modifier groups, connect Stripe, and publish the ordering page on your own domain. Export your guest list from your current system if you can and import it with consent status intact. Once staff are comfortable, trial the browser POS and kitchen display during a slow shift. Check your hardware and processing contract terms before planning a full switch.

Yes, if you run a counter, takeout or delivery operation, sell online, or simply want guest marketing and restaurant operations in one CRM. If you run a large sit-down restaurant that depends on certified terminals, keeps trading through internet outages and needs payroll, Toast or a similar hardware platform is the better match.
It runs entirely in the browser. On the operations side you get a POS that keeps checks open and splits them, a kitchen screen, table orders from a tablet, table layouts and stock tracking. Menus support modifier groups, and guests get online ordering and booking pages carrying the restaurant's branding.
No. Any laptop, tablet or monitor you own can run the POS, the kitchen screen and table ordering. The limitation to know about is card handling: payments go through Stripe's on-screen payment form, and there is no certified terminal to insert a card into.
Stripe does, using your own account; SaaSVisionary has no processing service of its own. For completeness you can log cash and outside payments against a check too. Card transactions carry Stripe's usual fees.
